Excellent RV park. Walk to the casino. The sites and patios are concrete. Grassy pet walks. Impressed with the convenience for RVers. Would definitely stay again.
Scenic park with water front sites on canals. Water fowl is plentiful. The ownership and management is working hard to make it a great park. The roads and sites are gravel. We would stay again.
We did stay here. We looked around at the entrance and saw it was trashy. We asked to turn around to the main road, that was a mistake. The campground roads were tight and over grown trees and bushes. At one curve we rubbed against the stumps being used as barriers. Maybe a 30 foot Motor Home would be the maximum size that would fit.
Well we expected too much from the previous reviews. Seams like most of the sites are taken by seasonal campers with extra refrigerators etc sitting outside their campers. They do have full hook up sites, however they are very hard to get. They do have 1 loop that is reservable which has 2 community water hookups, 30 amp and no sewer. Mens showers had no private dressing area however the Ladies showers had private areas. I guess the park would be Okay if you only needed 30AMP and don't mind hauling 200 ft of hose to fill your water tank and didn't need sewer.
The campground is just okay for a weekend or overnight stop over on HWY 43 or HWY 80. The park is being renovated. It has a good layout of day use and campgrounds. Many sites are river front. We were able to watch the barges from our site. But the location is not the most desirable. There is industry and railroad tracks on the way to the entrance. This park is very close to town, so cell phones will work. There is a new Walmart Supercenter being built about 3 miles from park. The camp hosts were not the best. Some rules were enforced and some were not, depended on who you were or what state you called home. There is not much to do in area. Will not return to this park
The park was golf course beautiful. Sites were large and well planned for all types of RVs. Be sure to make reservations. This park fills up every weekend. Wonderful bike and hike trails. Try the local eatery OVERALLS in Carthage. The only reason - for the 9 rating is because there is no sewer hookup and most sites are gravel but level. Will definitely return.
Very nice COE park. A distance from everything. Be sure you have all your supplies before you arrive. The sites #1 to #8 are right on the river with wooden decks at the shoreline. The rest of the sites are very nice but in a valley, can get HOT. This park is opened all year. Very clean and quiet.
Another excellent COE park. The roads were very wide. Campsites were large and not crowded into the neighbors area. Will return. Be sure to make reservations for weekends or holidays.
Park was very quiet. Spanish moss on big oak trees. Walking through the historical buildings was very interesting. Walmart is about 4 miles from the campground. The park could use some updating and cleaning in the buildings and the sites. All in all, it was just okay. Would return for a couple of days.
